This Privacy Policy describes Our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of Your information when You use the Service and tells You about Your privacy rights and how the law protects You.

Interpretation

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

On-Device vs. Cloud-Based AI Models

SearchPilot offers two types of AI models:

• Gemini Nano: This model runs entirely on your device. No data, queries, or selected text is sent to any external server. Your information remains private to your machine.
• OpenAI (GPT models): When you choose to use an OpenAI model, your queries and the relevant context (like selected text) are sent to OpenAI's servers for processing. If you provide your own API key, your usage is subject to your agreement with OpenAI. If you use a proxied version provided by SearchPilot, your queries are processed anonymously. We do not log or store the content of your queries.

Information We Collect

We do not collect any personal information. For the purpose of improving the extension, we may collect anonymous usage statistics, such as feature frequency. This data is completely anonymous and cannot be tied to any individual user.
